Age 20 (very long horizon)
- ✅ Default: a Target-Date Index around …. It auto-rebalances and slowly adds bonds (“glidepath”).
- ✅ Low fee: aim for ER ≤ 0.25% on index series.
- 🔁 Optional: if doing DIY, a Blue-Chip US Index (Large Blend) plus 20–40% international.
- 🧠 Why: maximum time to ride out volatility; automation reduces behavior mistakes.
Age 30 (long horizon, slightly more balance)
- ✅ Default: a Target-Date Index around … (still stock-heavy but adds a modest bond sleeve).
- ✅ Low fee: ER ≤ 0.25% on index series.
- 🔁 Optional: Blue-Chip US Index (Large Blend); consider pairing with a Core Bond fund (small %).
- 🧠 Why: growth focus remains, but a touch more ballast helps stick with the plan.

- Open a screener (US or Global/UK).
- Fund Company → Fidelity (remove if no results).
- Category → Large Blend (Global/UK name: US Large-Cap Blend Equity).
- Rating (min) → 4★ (try 3★ if needed).
- Expense Ratio Max → 0.15% (try 0.20% if needed).
- Show Results → open a fund page → confirm it’s an Index approach.
